Devi Govender

As platform president, Devi is responsible for setting Abiomed’s long-term product strategy, bringing critical innovations to market and educating healthcare providers about the benefits of our technology. 

Devi began her career at Abiomed in 2016 as leader of the physician programs team. Her role expanded over the following five years to take on more therapy and market development responsibility. Devi was promoted from her role as vice president for global healthcare solutions to platform president in 2024.

Prior to Abiomed, Devi worked at Abbott Vascular in roles across sales, professional education and KOL management. Her healthcare career started in her home country of Ireland more than 20 years ago. Devi built her initial experience in the pharmaceutical world but spent most of her time in medical device. During her time in Ireland, Devi worked with distributors across different markets and differing health systems to deliver technologies within the cardiac surgery, cardiac cath lab, endovascular and neurovascular care areas.

Devi holds a B.A and master’s degree from University College Dublin.  She moved from Dublin to the United States in 2010 and became a U.S. citizen in 2021.
